PS180-T: Proscend VDSL2 SFP Modem (Telco CPE)
AT LAST! A vDSL modem interface for MikroTik Routers!
IMPORTANT NOTICE: These units are NOT YET CERTIFIED FOR USE ON PUBLIC PSTN NETWORKS - they have passed RCM compliance certification only for use on private copper networks (e.g. apartment building internal wiring). This status is unlikely to change while the Manufacturer (https://www.metanoia-comm.com/) has so far been unwilling to commit to any support for compliance testing required for us on 'Public Telecommunications networks' in Australia. In the meantine, if you operate your own DSLAM/s and you own or exclusively control the copper cabling, then these products do have all of the necessary certificatioins for Australian RCM mark.
Proscend 180-T is a VDSL2 SFP modem that interconnects with Gateway Processor by using a MSA (MultiSource Agreement) compliant hot pluggable electrical interface. The DSL chipset inside the VDSL2 SFP modem supports all VDSL2 profiles defined by ITU-T G.993.2, and more importantly, it can be backward compatible with many* ADSL2/ ADSL2+ and VDSL. Compliance with G.994.1 and G.997.1 standards, ensures its interoperability with all existing broadband network services. Furthermore, Proscend 180-T also features the latest ITU standards such as G.inp (G.998.4) and G.vector (G.993.5).
* backward compatibility is possible, but currently not guaranteed or officially supported across all DSLAM vendors. We are working with the relevant manufacturers (MikroTik/Proscend) to broaden support over time.
