With corona virus daily cases continuing to climb in Victoria, the state government has taken some drastic measures to take control of infections. This article offers some important information about how we are reacting to the latest challenges to minimise impact to you and your business.
With the total case count also growing, we extend our deepst sympathies and thoughts to those of our fellow Victorians sadly touched by the tragic death toll of this virus.
From DuxTel businss perspective, there are five main points relavent to the COVID-19 pandemic:
- supply: availability of new stocks to maintain inventory
- demand: customer demand on our products
- order processing and dispatch: timely
- office and warehouse opening hours and access: access to sales advice and technical support and visiting our premises
- health and safety: of our team members, their families, and the wider community
Dealing with those issues individually:
Almost all manufacturing operations globally have been back to full production since April now, and vendor order procesing times have reduced remarkably. MikroTik in particular have boosted production in both Europe and China, and increased warehouse staffing to work through the backlog, making significant improvements in order processing delays.
Consignment transit times, have recovered significantly, with express and air freight services improved to almost pre-pandemic efficiency. Surface/sea freight continues to be challenging with quarantine procdures still introducing signifact delays at source and destination ports as well as any transit terminals that might be involved.
Some products continue to experience long delays, but these delays are mostly related to component or materials availability issues and/or production machinery failures or breakdown, and total number of products affected is reduces ovrall.
Product demand continues to be strong, but has settled down from a significant spike to what we would consider more normal volumes. Therefore, available inventory for most products has returned to normal, with most products now available for immediate dispatch. We are currently receiving consignments of MikroTik product at least once each week, and expect that to continue or increase over coming weeks and months.

Note that inventory numbers are updated in real time, and expected consignment info is updated at least daily - if you require any additional detail or clarification, you are welcome to contact us to discuss at any time!
3. Order processing and Dispatch:
Transport and Logistics operators such as TNT/FedEx, DHL, Australia Post and others are unaffected by the latest increase in restrictions, and so we expect receipt and dispatch of goods to continue unaffected. Therefore we expect that all ordrs will continue to be processed and shipped largely on the same day of placement of your order, with out-of-stock delays relatively short as usual.
We anticipate no changes to our capacity to ship goods with next day delivery to most AU destinations over the coming weeks and months.
4. Warehouse and Office opening hours and access:
From Tuesday 4th August, and until further notice, our office is closed to all visitors. If you require prompt advice or assistance, all our friendly team members continue to be available by telephone during business hours - just call our office at your convenience for the same prompt and friendly, expert response!
Also from Tuesday 4th August until further notice, our Geelong warehouse will be closed to visitors. If you have an urgent or critical need to access product immdiately, we continue to offer a click-and-collect type service, for orders placed online and paid in advance in full, to support your requirements. Just build your order in the usual way via shop.duxtel.com, then select 'pick up from DuxTel' at the shipping stage of the checkout process, then contact us immediately to arrange a suitable time collection. When atending our warehouse to collect your order, please stay within the visitor confined areas, and wear an appropriate face covering at all times while on site.
We do respectifully request, of course, that if you are feeling unwell, or have been in close contact with someone who is unwell, that you avoid visiting at all. In all cases, if your requirement for a visit is urgent, please do advise us prior to your arrival, and keep respectful social distance while on site.
4. Health and Safety:
We hold the health and safety of our valued team members with absolute highest priority! We also fully understand that we must also be mindful of the health and safety of the wider community, and that minimising risk of virus transmission between immediate social circles is the primary objective of recent and new restrictions on movement throughout the community.
With this in mind, all staff continue to work from home, and we have now reduced to a maximum of two people present at the office at any one time to ensure effective physical distancing.
All of our team members are committed to observing all government restrictions and following all recommended medical advice to ensure our abaility to continue to deliver the highest levcel of service that our customers and partners have come to expect! :-)
